General graphic design using Illustrator & InDesign
Many projects (like packaging, for example) I show only a few of a series. Often an entire plan-o-gram will take a year or so to redesign. I developed the graphics (as well as die lines and clamshells when needed) and accompanying photo shoots for several Apache plan-o-grams, as well as retail signage, trade show displays, and line review packets for big box retailers. Most large scale printing projects were handled offshore, so preparing files that work the first time was my speciality as well. Packaging projects like these generally included over 100 different designs, just as catalogs included many pages.
A quick note about Pareti.
I designed the wall product concept, as well as our latest follow-up product, walls on casters. Both simple and needed for a variety of businesses. This lead me to learning CAD/CAM and how to build and operate a CNC, in addition to creating the marketing materials and content which would drive customers to contact us. Consequently, we’ve made sales all over the US and Canada, to famous brands like Nike, the Pentagon, notable museums, and more. All sales are 100% online-driven with the exception of referrals and repeat orders thanks to SEO and social media, and YouTube.
Movies are fun to create, and are a major part of Pareti’s marketing toolkit. Check out Pareti’s videos here or here to view our channel. While doing all marketing, videos, web, and direct sales, I also project managed construction projects, managed our shop manager, and encouraged customers to send photos in our monthly photo competition.
I love Photoshop, and was delighted it needed to be used heavily in several catalogs. Due to trade show or catalog release deadlines, I often had to create “outdoor photo shoots” using indoor shots with stock photos. I also had to frequently illustrate water for pressure washing photo shoots, as shots were taken when everything was completely dry. Photoshop was also helpful when models were costly or impossible to obtain, such as placing camo cases with real soldiers.
Adobe Dimensions a fabulous mockup tool, as well as an alternative to photo shoots when possible. Many of the images in Pareti’s catalogs are from Dimensions, as moving the walls for different shoots is not always practical.
